Third successive monthly record with 78,100 sold vehicles. Sales grew 19.5 percent in May. Record monthly results in Russia and in Switzerland.

©KODA continues to grow at a high rate and in the month of May 2011 has again made significant gains compared to the previous year. With 78,100 deliveries to customers, worldwide sales rose 19.5 percent compared to the same month of last year (May 2010: 65,300 vehicles). With that development, the Czech automobile manufacturer has achieved the best May sales result in its history. Moreover, new monthly sales records were reached in Russia und in Switzerland. On a cumulative basis, ©KODA sold 373,400 vehicles in the first five months of the year (January - May 2010: 307,400 units), a plus of 21.5 percent.

“We are very satisfied with the sales development in May and with the course of the current year and have made very good progress within the framework of our growth strategy,” explains Jürgen Stackmann, the ©KODA board member for sales and marketing. “The third monthly record in a row shows how strong and sustainable the momentum is. ©KODA is stepping on the gas pedal in all model series. The good development of the models Roomster and Fabia is particularly pleasing.”

Within a declining Czech market, ©KODA sold 4,800 vehicles in May. By far the highest demand in its home market was recorded for the ©KODA models Octavia and Fabia.

The brand achieved high growth rates in the other markets of Central and Eastern Europe in May. Sales in Poland rose 16.4 percent, in the Ukraine 60.7 percent.

In Western Europe, ©KODA grew 18.0 percent in May. Once again, the brand was able to gain market shares here. Compared to the previous year, sales rose to 34,400 units. In Switzerland, the brand scored a new monthly sales record with 1,600 units – a plus of 37.3 percent. ©KODA also recorded high two-digit growth rates in other Western European countries. Among them are Sweden (plus 32.7 percent), Belgium (plus 56.6 percent), and the Netherlands (plus 72.9 percent).

Regarding the growth markets of Russia, India, and China, ©KODA’s dynamic development continues unabated. In Russia, the brand achieved the best May sales result ever with a plus of 39.4 percent and 6,100 sold vehicles and the third record sales month in a row. In China, too, ©KODA once more enjoyed significant growth in May: deliveries rose 31.3 percent to 18,600 units (May 2010: 14,162 vehicles). In India, the manufacturer reached a plus of 23.6 percent in May compared to the previous year, selling 1,900 units. The small car Fabia is particularly well received by customers on the subcontinent.

But other individual, non-European markets showed a positive development in May as well: Particularly noteworthy among them are Australia (plus 43.7 percent), Turkey (plus 20.1 percent), and Israel (plus 23.6 percent).

Aby nadać odpowiednie proporcje powyższej propagandzie sukcesu, proponuję rzucić okiem na pierwszą setkę najlepiej sprzedających się modeli we Francji. Duży rynek, wydawałoby się, że trochę Skód kupują ... a tu proszę jakie zaskoczenie.
